Estrella Galicia 0,0 and Monlau Repsol present 2018 motorcycle racing project at the Circuito del Jarama

The riders and teams for this year's sporting project by Estrella Galicia 0,0, Monlau Repsol Technical School and Marc VDS Racing -collaborators since 2015- gathered at the Circuito del Jarama in Madrid on Monday for the official presentation of the 2018 lineups. The project will feature six teams in various classes and 14 riders.

The legendary track was one of the pioneering circuits in the Spanish motorcycle racing boom, and continues to host events some four decades on from its inauguration. It last held a World Championship round 20 years ago, and provided a perfect location for the unveiling of the Estrella Galicia 0,0 2018 project.

The Galician brewery will once again support riders in all three World Championship classes, as well as in the World Junior Moto3 series, European Talent Cup and RFME Spanish Championship.

The Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Moto3 outfit completes the triple-pronged offensive in the World Championship, and consists of two promising riders. Last season's third placed finisher in the series, and a winner of three Grands Prix, Arón Canet will participate in his third full season in Moto3 with his sights set on the title. He will be joined by fellow Spaniard Alonso López, who has progressed up the Estrella Galicia 0,0 career pyramid to earn a spot in the World Championship.

The Estrella Galicia 0,0 presence in the FIM CEV Repsol series consists of two teams in two different classes. Junior Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 will run three riders in World Junior Moto3: Jeremy Alcoba and Sergio García remain part of the project after their promising results last year. British rider Charlie Nesbitt joins as part of his training and education.

The European Talent Cup promotional series will have three riders in Talent Team Estrella Galicia 0,0. Julián Giral, Daniel Holgado and Jose Antonio Rueda are the representatives in stage two of the plan to build to a future in motorcycle racing.

In the initial phase of the Monlau Repsol Technical School project, the School Team Monlau Repsol will run Diogo Moreira and Adrián Cruces as their Moto4 riders in the RFME Spanish Championship.

Emilio Alzamora / Team Principal Team Estrella Galicia 0,0:

"Three years ago, we presented a project in which we together the two large structures of  Monlau Repsol Technical School and Marc VDS to create a unique project, a pyramid project in which our main hope was to create a structure to help young talents and proven riders. Every passing year is a reaffirmation of the potential that this project has; a project with which we have always aimed to enhance talent. This year young riders are coming in and we will contribute our resources so that they continue to progress, as is the case with Alonso López, who after competing in the Spanish Championship and the FIM CEV Repsol in our teams has this year moved up to the World Championship. He will be teammate to Arón Canet in Team Estrella Galicia 0,0. With the high level and experience of our technical team we can offer him the best resources. In a project like ours, the objectives have to be to develop riders and fight for the best results."

Arón Canet # 44 / Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 / Moto3:

"This season we will be looking to be consistent and up in the front group, trying to get as many victories as possible. This will be my third year with Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 in Moto3 and moving forward within the structure makes me face the season very focused. I feel strong and motivated to fight for the best results. Today was a very special day: The presentation of the six teams that form this great  Monlau Repsol Technical School - Estrella Galicia 0,0 - Marc VDS structure, and I am very excited to be part of this project."

Alonso López # 72 / Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 / Moto3:

"My main objective for this season will be to learn. It is very exciting to have the opportunity to make the leap up to the World Championship after having competed with Junior Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 in the FIM CEV Repsol last season, where I finished third in the Junior World Moto3 class. This year we have already had several tests and the feeling with my new crew is very good. The way of working in the World Championship follows the method of the Monlau Repsol Technical School, which I already have instilled from the year that we won the PreMoto3 championship of what was then the Copa de España (2015), and that makes the understanding even better. I hope we can have a great season together."

Jeremy Alcoba # 52 / Junior Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 / Junior World Moto3:

"This will be my third year and we are motivated to have the chance to fight for the championship in the Junior World Moto3 category. Last year we got on the podium four times and this season we will work to be there again and try to win as many races as possible. I would like to participate as a wildcard in all the Grands Prix that take place in Spain, and this would be great for accumulating experience for the day I eventually move up. We'll work to be up at the front so that all this is possible."

Sergio Garcia # 11 / Junior Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 / Junior World Moto3:

"This is my third year with Estrella Galicia 0,0 and my second with Junior Team Estrella Galicia 0,0. Last year we gained a lot of experience and finished seventh, thus fulfilling the goal of finishing in the top ten. This season we will work to improve last year's results and finish in the top five overall. On days like today, one realises the magnitude of this project. Being able to talk to the World Championship riders and get their advice is a privilege."

Charlie Nesbitt # 86 / Junior Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 / Junior World Moto3:

"This season we will fight to finish in the points regularly and end the year among the top ten. I'm very keen to start the season and very proud to belong to this great motorsport family."

Julián Giral # 76 / Talent Team Estrella Galicia 0.0 / European Talent Cup:

"I am very proud to continue being part of this structure, that aims to accompany us in our sporting careers. After finishing in fifth place in PreMoto3 in the Spanish Championship with School Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 last season, this year I will compete for the European Talent Team and the goal is to be consistent and fight to get the best results."

Daniel Holgado # 96 / Talent Team Estrella Galicia 0.0 / European Talent Cup:

"It's going to be a busy season, but we approach it with great enthusiasm. We will try to be among the top ten and learn a lot about the class. Last year I competed in PreMoto3, finishing sixth overall. This year, my intention is to have a great season -because I feel like I'm on a great team."

Jose Antonio Rueda # 95 / Talent Team Estrella Galicia 0.0 / European Talent Cup:

"I am very excited to be riding for Talent Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 this season, after having completed last season with the School Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 -finishing third overall in the 85GP class in the Spanish Championship. This year our goal will be to learn as much as possible alongside my teammates Daniel Holgado and Julian Giral."

Diogo Moreira #42 / School Team Monlau Repsol / Campeonato de España de Velocidad RFME Moto4:

“I'm very happy to be riding in Spain for another year, and even happier to continue with the Estrella Galicia 0,0 project. Last year I finished fourth in the 85GP class and this year we will be riding in Moto4. I'm aware that this is a big opportunity and I want to make the most of it."

Adrian Cruces #10/ School Team Monlau Repsol / Campeonato de España de Velocidad RFME Moto4:

“On a day like today, I realise how big this project is. I'm very excited to be here. This year we are competing in the Moto4 class, after placing second last year in 85GP. Starting work with this team is a dream come true, and I hope that we take many podiums this season."
